Prayer Ministry

"... the prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness."  James 5:16

God invites us to enjoy Him and bring our needs to Him through prayer.  This is available only because of the relationship we have with Him in Jesus Christ.  We are righteous because of the sacrifice of Jesus, and we can enter boldy into God's presence for every need.  He encourages us that we are His children, co-heirs with Christ and partners with Him in His work.  We enter into His work in the world first of all through prayer, so that our dependence and provision is clearly from Him.  God responds to His children's requests through the miracle working power of His Holy Spirit.  We simply seek to pursue God and invite Him to have His way in us.  As we do this, He causes His Kingdom to come and His will to be done in our midst.  It has been said that prayerlessness is powerlessness.  We hope you will join us as we seek to bring Heaven to bear on the earth through prayer.

MONTHLY PRAYER & WORSHIP MEETING

Join Pastor Dave Benefield in the Fellowship Hall from 6:00 - 7:30 PM for the monthly prayer meeting, generally on the first Sunday of the month. The next prayer meeting is:

Sunday, November 6: in Lighthouse Fellowship Hall

If you are planning on attending and need childcare, please let the church office know and we’ll get it arranged.

Our Mission Statement for this ministry is “Pressing into His Presence until His Purposes Prevail.”  In general, we will be praying for our families, church, community, country and world.  We will also pray for personal needs and other specific needs as requested or the Lord leads.  If you have need of healing prayer, we would love to pray for you!

We begin each meeting with a time of worship.  If you are not comfortable praying out loud, that is no problem.  You are welcome to pray out loud or simply agree with the rest of the group in prayer.

WEEKLY PRAYER MEETING

Join us Monday nights for prayer in the LCF Conference room from 7-8 pm.  This is a time of prayer for current events and needs each week as the Lord leads.

WEEKLY PRE-SERVICE PRAYER

We meet each Sunday morning for prayer before our weekend worship service.  We pray from 9:15 - 9:40 am specifically for the worship service that starts at 10 am.

"Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work."

FRANK LAUBACH

“The trouble with nearly everybody who prays is that he says ‘Amen’ and runs away before God has a chance to reply. Listening to God is far more important than giving Him our ideas.”

ANDREW MURRAY

W.S. BOWD

"The main lesson about prayer is just this: Do it! Do it! Do it! You want to be taught to pray. My answer is pray and never faint, and then you shall never fail…"

HENRY DRUMMOND

"Ten minutes spent in the presence of Christ every day, aye, two minutes, will make the whole day different."

A.T. PIERSON
