Preschool classes are offered for children birth through kindergarten during all worship services. In order to best serve all of our children, classes are determined by birth date. The August 2007 through July 2008 class divisions are:
Nursery: Birth to Walking (Nursery classroom)
Toddler 1: September 1, 2005-August 31, 2006 (Room 2)
Toddler 2: September 1, 2004-August 31, 2005 (Room 3)
Toddler 3: September 1, 2003-August 31, 2004 (Room 4)
PreK/Kindergarten: September 1, 2001-August 31, 2003 (Room 5)
Nursing Mother’s Room (Room 1)
Parents please check children into their classrooms before the worship service begins. Door signs will guide you to the proper classrooms.
First time guests please check in at the Children’s Information Desk in the lobby where you will be assisted in finding your children’s classrooms.
One of our highest goals at Lighthouse is to provide a safe and loving environment for our children so our check in system is our security system. Parents sign in their children on the sign-in sheets and fill out a numbered label. The student wears the large label as their name tag. Parents take the small numbered label. At check out, teachers match the numbers and collect the small label as they dismiss children to parents. The number on each child’s security sticker is also the means we use to notify you if you are needed during the service. If your child needs you, their number is posted on the digital display on both sides of the front walls of the auditorium.
We believe that even our youngest children can begin to learn about God’s love for them. Toddler 2/3, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are taught a hands on Bible lesson using music, puppets, stories and crafts. Children also have time to play and have a snack. Toddler 2/3, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes are staffed by member volunteers who teach one service per month. Nursery and Toddler 1 classes are staffed by loving, trained and experienced paid childcare employees who have been interviewed and passed a background check.
